Christos Pourgourides: "Lukashenka’s Regime Shows Its Real Face to the World" 11:27, 05/01/2005
The sentence in the case of Mikhail Marynich was condemned by the member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Christos Pourgourides, who was the author of the report on disappeared politicians in Belarus, Radio Svaboda informs. The parliamentarian notes that he was shocked and saddened by this decision. “It is understandable that Lukashenka’s regime is coming to show true colors to the world. I hope very much that after this ruling the international community would understand that if serious actions against this regime are not taken, and it is not made to give up the power, the events in Belarus are to get worse and worse with every month. This is a tragic objective law by which I am very disappointed, and I hope that the international community would react determinedly to this ruling”.
