NEWS  Belarus increases charges on natural gas 12:37, 08/02/2005 Natural gas charges on Belarussian legal entities and sole proprietors have been increased by 8% from $56.8 to $61.3 per 1,000 cubic meters. President Alexander Lukashenko reaffirmed at a conference on charges on natural gas, electricity and heating in mid-January that Russia would be selling natural gas to Belarus at $46.68 per 1,000 cubic meters this year. In addition, Russia and Belarus have agreed to collect the 18% value added tax in the country of destination. Thus, Belarus has to add the tax to the gas price.
