Birzha Informatsii’s Publishing Suspended For Indefinite Term 12:20, 09/03/2005
Belarusian printing-houses refused to print the new issue of Hrodna-based newspaper “Birzha Informatsii”. It happened after the 3-month term of newspaper’s publishing suspension by Information Ministry ended. The editorial office is to suspend publishing the paper version of the newspaper and will continue to publish the newspaper in internet.
The new issue of the newspaper was to be printed in the end of this week. However, according to the editor-in-chief Alena Raubetskaya, one of the officials in Minsk told her that the “Birzha Informatsii” was placed on the black list, and the state-run printing houses had become unreachable for it.
One of the private printing-houses in Minsk took the materials of the newspapers, but after reading the articles they decided not to print them. Alena Raubetskaya tells that there is not a single printing house in Belarus that would agree to sign a contract with the “Birzha Informatsii”.
For financial reasons the editorial office finds it impossible to print the newspaper abroad.
