Putin Has Made Secret Alliance With Lukashenka Against Democracy
16:32, 13/04/2005

After Russian president’s words about the possibility for him to run in presidential elections in 2012, he gave another reason for speculations about his political future after expiring of his mandate in spring of 2008, Die Welt writes in its article, which has been translated by the Russian site Inopressa.ru.

There is a version that Putin has contracted a secret alliance with his Belarusian counterpart Alyaksandr Lukashenka during their recent meeting in Sochi. They both want to promote the merger of Russia and Belarus, that would drastically speed up the process of merging Russia and Belarus into a bastion opposing Western-sponsored democratic change, a military expert Pavel Felgenhauer claims.

Referring to a secret source in the Kremlin, Pavel Felgenhauer wrote in the Moscow Times that in about an hour a referendum is to take place. The Russian constitution is to be re-written, the Duma is to be disbanded, and the common Russian-Belarusian parliament is to be elected. The ministries of foreign affairs and defence are to be united. In 2007, according to the new constitution Putin is to be re-elected for the seven-year term. Lukashenka is to be pacified by a position of vice president and a promise to become a successor later.

Meanwhile, as the Interfax informs, Alyaksandr Lukashenka told that Belarus and Russia are to reinforce antiaircraft defence at the western borders of the “union state”. It is to take place in the framework of the common training of troops in the near future.

Moreover, during the visit to Obuz-Lesnovsky military test site Lukashenka announced that it had been agreed to deliver several Russian complexes S-300 to Belarus. As said by him, these complexes are to be located at certain directions, “where we need them”.
