Anatol Lyabedzka: Book of Complaints to Appear In Lukashenka’s Administration 13:49, 14/04/2005
According to Lukashenka’s decree “On improvement of work with population”, since April 15 almost all political parties and public associations in Belarus are to have books of complaints. For the majority of party leaders it was like a thunderbolt from the blue.
For instance, the United Civil Party (UCP) has more than two dozens of branches in different regions, and they are to have books of complaints before April 15. Otherwise they will be fined 130 dollars. And it is only for the first time. Next breaches of the decree are to be followed by annulment of the registration document.
“Unfortunately, it is a typical situation for Belarus, when the authorities are trying to bring under regulations and control all spheres of public life,” told to the Russian “Gazeta” the leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka. He noted that the party headed by him would insist on Lukashenka’s Administration having a book of complaints as well, so that it would be possible to write a complaint for Lukashenka.
“As long as there is no such book there, the UCP initiates to collect complaints and proposals addressed to Lukashenka,” Lyabedzka said.
