Lithuanian embassy set to further ties between Belarus, NATO 11:41, 14/04/2005
Lithuanian Ambassador Jonas Paslauskas said on April 12 that his country’s embassy in Minsk is set to continue furthering constructive cooperation between Belarus and NATO.
The ambassador was speaking at an official reception marking the first anniversary of his country’s entry to NATO.
Lithuania joined the alliance on March 29, 2004 together with Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
The Lithuanian embassy functions as the alliance’s contact embassy in Belarus.
Attending the reception were ambassadors and military attache of NATO member states, Belarusian foreign ministry and defense officials and representatives of non-governmental organizations.
