Parties Given Time For Relocation :: Charter'97 :: News

Justice Ministry has extended till June 1 the term for relocation of all branches of parties and public organizations from residential premises to office buildings. The regulations about it were signed by the Justice Minister Halavanau on April 5.

Previously the deadline for executing the requirement of the Justice Ministry was February 1. A number of political parties and public associations were issued official warnings for not complying with the requirement. The parties tried to challenge the warnings in the Supreme Court, however all the cases were lost.

According to the order of the minister, the re-registering of local branches placed at addresses complying with the requirements of the dwelling code, is to finish before June 1. Other organizations are to be cancelled from the journals of state registration. Regional branches of the prosecutor’s office are to control entering in the log and giving state registration to the branches of political parties and public associations.
