NEWS  US Senate Approved Law On Democracy Support Programs in Belarus 12:47, 22/04/2005 At the session on Thursday the US Senate unanimously approved the law on new additional outlays of the US Federal budget for the current commercial year, in particular, envisaging allotting $5 millions for the programs of democracy support in Belarus. “In the framework of the allotted sum, $5 millions are to be allocated for the programs on democracy in Belarus, which are to be carried out under the guidance of the US Department of State’s branch on democracy issues, human rights and labour,” the document reads. This sum was included into the bill in the beginning of April during passing the document in the Senate Appropriations Committee.
