The administrative cases of Ukrainian citizens detained in Minsk on April 26 for participation in the protest action, are to be reconsidered in Minsk city court on Tuesday, May 3, told press-attaché of Ukrainian embassy in Belarus Leonid Yesinsky to the Charter’97 press center. Five Ukrainian citizens are still jailed in the pre-trial detention center of Interior Affairs Department of Minsk executive committee. They continue hunger-strike protesting against illegal arrest.
Today since the morning, the Ukrainian consul together with the lawyer of the Ukrainians detained on April 26, was in the Minsk city court. He is to submit assistance in revision of this case. During the conversation with the head of Minsk city court, Ukrainian consul expressed demand to consider the cases of the Ukrainian citizens today.
However, as the press attaché of the Ukrainian embassy Leonid Yesinsky informed, the revision of the cases is postponed, according to the Ambassador. The press attaché refused to comment on this information.
Four Ukrainians were sentenced to 10 days of arrest, and one of them – to 15 days of administrative arrest by the court.
Ukrainians from the “National Alliance”, Belarusian activists, and Russian activists from the youth branchs of Yabloko, Union of the Right Forces and “Marching Without Putin”, “Oborona”, were detained in Minks on April 26 for participation in the protest on the 19th anniversary of Chernobyl catastrophe.
All the Russians detaioned in Minsk for participation in the protest on April 26, were granted a pre-term release on April 30 by the ruling of Minsk city court.
