A regular arms and military equipment exhibition, MILEKS-2005, will be held in Minsk on May 17 through 20. Russia is among the chief exhibitors. "The Russian exhibition mirrors an outlook for the directions of Russia`s military-technical cooperation with countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Collective Security Treaty Organisation and the European region", said the press service of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC). The Collective Security Treaty was concluded in 1992 between Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Armenia.

The MILEKS-2005 will display a joint Russian-Belarusian military exhibition.
"The involvement of Russian organizations in this exhibition will be an important stage in the expansion and deepening of mutually beneficial military-technical cooperation between the Russian Federation and Belarus, other CIS countries. It will help in the further strengthening of the positions of Russia and the Russia-Belarus Union on the world arms market", the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation said.

The Rosoboronexport (successor of the USSR and Russian state arms exporters), FGUP Splav (the world`s leading manufacturer of multiple missile launching systems - highly efficient offensive and defensive weapons) and others will represent Russia`s defense industry at this exhibition, the FSMTC press release says.
