Azerbaijani Youth to Support Belarusian Opposition 17:22, 04/05/2005
Activists of youth organizations from Azerbaijan are planning to come to Minsk to support Belarusian oppositionists in their fight for democratic changes in the country.
As a representative of the youth movement “Yokh!” Razi Nurullaev said to the agency Prima, the democratic structures are to help each other. Nurullaev told that movement’s activists are ready to join protest actions in Minsk. At present a branch of the “Yokh!” is being created in Belarus. The organization is going to support Belarusian oppositionists with its help.
Activists of another Azerbaijani organization, “Eni Fikir” (“New thought”) are ready to help the Belarusian youth as well. The leader of the organization. Ruslan Bashirov, believes that democratic changes in both countries could be carried out by joined efforts. “There are two variants: either we go to Belarus and join our fellow activists, or we stage analogous protests in support of Belarusian democrats in Baku,” Bashirov said.
