NEWS  Israeli embassy wondering which street in Minsk will be given name of Jerusalem 11:27, 16/05/2005 The Israeli embassy in Minsk plans to send an inquiry to the Minsk City Executive Committee to find out which street will be given the name of Iyerusalimskaya (Jerusalem), Zeev Ben Arie, the Israeli embassy to Belarus, told BelaPAN on Friday. By his May 7 presidential edict, Belarusian leader Aleksandr Lukashenko directed that Pyotr Masherov Avenue, a major street in the capital city, should be renamed Victors Avenue, and that the name of Pyotr Masherov Avenue should be given to the build-up stretch formed by Iyerusalimskaya, Drozda and Varvasheni Streets. Mr. Arie noted that the embassy is concerned about the renaming of Iyerusalimskaya Street.
