Lukashenko on state visit to Kazakhstan 12:40, 18/05/2005
Aleksandr Lukashenko on Wednesday morning left for the Kazakh capital of Astana where he is expected to meet with President Nursultan Nazarbayev during his two-day state visit, the Belarusian leader’s press office reported.
The heads of state will reportedly discuss “a broad range” of cooperation issues and sign several accords.
Mr. Lukashenko also is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Daniyal Akhmetov, visit the Presidential Cultural Center, lay flowers at a WWII memorial and plant a tree at the so-called lane of the heads of state in Astana, Kazakh media outlets reported.
On Thursday, the Belarusian leader together with his Kazakh counterpart will inaugurate a new building of the Belarusian embassy.
