Iryna Krasouskaya Takes Part in Session of UN Working Group Against Forcible Abductions 16:46, 01/06/2005
In the end of May, during the Week against forcible detentions, the leader of the civil initiative “We remember”, member of the Council of Civil Initiatives “Free Belarus” Iryna Krasouskaya, has taken part in the field session of the UN Working Group Against Forcible Abductions. The 75th session of the working group has become the first field meeting, which took place in Asia and in head offices in Geneva and New York.
Representatives of Thailand, Philippines, Kashmir, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, as well as of the countries that support the movement against forcible abductions have taken part in preparation of the text of resolution against forcible or arbitrary abductions. Belarus was represented by the civil initiative “We Remember” and by its leader Iryna Krasouskaya.
The event was accompanied by the meetings with the UN Working Group, participation of the Asian Federation against Forcible Abductions.
During the visit to Bangkok, Iryna Krasouskaya met with Foreign Minister of Thailand and representatives of the Thai Senate.
