17:08, 10/06/2005

Today Aliaxandar Skrabets was summoned to the legal investigator of the Brest public prosecutor’s office Andrei Livanau who is in charge of the case of his brother, the opposition activist, former deputy and the Republic group leader Siargey Skrabets and Aliaxandar himself. Aliaxandar Skrabets appeared in the case as his elder brother’s accomplice - “I was present at the conversation of Siargey Skrabets whit those people who later claimed Siargey intended to bribe them.”

Aliaxandar Skrabets was detained, spent 3 days of the arrest in the Brest investigatory isolation ward. He bore evidence. Afterwards he was released with recognizance not to leave.

Today, according to Aliaxandar Skrabets, the legal investigator said that the accusations against him personally had been withdrawn and that the measure of restriction - recognizance not to leave - is canceled.

Aliaxandar Skrabets told to Radio Liberty he offered the legal investigator to change his elder brother in prison for Siargey’s health. But the legal investigator said this could not be done.
