Navargudak officials consented to establishing museum of Barys Kit :: Charter'97 :: News

Navagrudak officials gave their consent to establishing in the town a museum of noted scientist in the scope of astronautics Barys Kit. As Belarusian writer Volga Ipatava told BelaPAN, Navagrudak authorities made this decision after a meeting with Assistant Professor of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, Candidate of philological science Lidziya Savik - a well-known researcher of the Belarusian Diaspora’s literature including works by B. Kit.

According to V. Ipatava, in the nearest future she will go to Frankfurt am Main, where 95-year old Kit resides, to tell him this news and continue studying of the scientist’s archives for arranging the funds of the museum to come. The museum should not only reflect the life and activity of the famous Navagrudak born scientist, but in time it should grow into a center of the literary life of the Navagrudak region, the writer remarked.

“Many famous Belarusian literati dedicated their works to Barys Kit. Among them there is People’s poet of Belarus Rygor Baradulin and People’s writer of Belarus Vasil Bykau, whose book “Stories of Barys Kit told by himself” has been published lately,” - said V. Ipatava. Now Navagrudak officials and the public select a building for the museum of B. Kit.
