Official Minsk Counts On Support of “Russian Friends” 12:39, 23/06/2005
Belarus relies on support of Russia in “prevention of orange revolutions”, told to journalists the speaker of so-called “chamber of representatives” of the “national assembly” of Belarus Uladzimir Kanaplyou (Vladimir Konopliov) on Thursday in Homel.
“The topic of orange revolutions is irrelevant for Belarus,” told Kanaplyou, stating at the same time that Belarus has reliable information that “militants are being trained and military units are being formed in neighbouring countries”. “But we know that Russian friends will support us,” the Belarusian speaker is positive.
As said by Kanaplyou, this question is to be discussed at the session of the parliamentary assembly of the “union” of Belarus and Russia. He does not exclude that a corresponding statement would be adopted on this issue.
