Action brought against former chairperson of «Belagroprombank» board 14:48, 27/06/2005
The Financial Investigations Department Office of the State Control Committee (SCC) of Belarus brought an action against former chairperson of the board of directors of the “Belagroprombank” PLC Aliaxandar Gaurushau. As the SCC press service informed BelaPAN, the former president of the bank is accused of abuse of authority that caused damage to the state and to “Belagroprombank” of Br 10.6 mln.
According to the SCC, in the years 2002-2003 A. Gaurushau ordered the directors of the “Belagroprombank” PLC subsidiaries in Gomel and Minsk to conclude agreements on paying for the education of his daughter in the Minsk State Linguistic University the sum of Br 5.2 mln and of his nephew in the Belarusian State Economic University - that of Br 5.4 mln.
As BelaPAN reported earlier, A. Gaurushau, who was at the helm of the “Belagroprombank” PLC since 1996, was relieved of his post of the chairperson of the board of director May 19, 2005, by the resolution of the common meeting of shareholders. Before the meeting of shareholders, the SCC had conducted a complex examination of the work of the bank and had elucidated a range of violations.
