Human rights activist of the “Viasna” center from Mozyr Uladzimir Tselepun was detained by police in the town of Kalinkavichy. The activist was detained soon after deputy chairman of the regional branch of the United Civil Party Uladzimir Katsora delivered him a repaired private computer.
Belarus is considering the question of leaving the Bishkek agreement according to which no visa is needed to travel within the frontiers of the CIS. This was announced Monday by Aliaxandar Gerasimenksa, the Vice Foreign Minister of the Republic. In this case Belarus will impose the visa regime with Georgia and Azerbaijan.

For more than 10 years the German Special Forces structures have their uniform tailored in Belarus. Today officers of Bundeswehr, German criminal police and customs services are dressed in the uniform manufactured in Belarus. Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Eduard Kukan met with Slovak ambassadors at a meeting on Tuesday that is held once every two years. Besides some critical remarks concerning Hungarian policy concerning minorities, the minister expressed concern about the current situation in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Even though Mr. Kukan called present signals of deformations of democracy in Russia worrying, he confirmed Slovakia`s continuing interest in cooperating with Russia on a practical level, including active communication within both the EU-Russia and NATO-Russia format The minister insisted that cooperation is more effective than isolation, even though this policy should not be interpreted as ignoring Russian interference in neighboring countries or as in any way respecting Russia`s lack of will to see frozen conflicts solved as well as its failure to comply with Istanbul commitments from 1999.

Crossing the state border of Belarus is to be paid for. The fee for its crossing by foreign and Belarusian citizens is introduced. According to the decree, the charge for crossing the border should not exceed one forth of a basic unit (for today it is about 6 Br or 3 USD). The regional councils and Minsk city council are allowed to collect this money.
