Belarusian Embassy in Russia attacks Putin’s counsellors 13:10, 30/06/2005
“The Belarusian public was astounded at the biased comments on the interior political situation in Belarus comprised in the so-called Open letter of the Council of the President of the Russian Federation on the development of the institutions for civil society and for human rights to the President of Belarus A. R. Lukashenka,” - as it is said in the Mass Media statement of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.
“It is evident for every sensible person that the council headed by Ella Pamphilova misappropriates the role of the judge estimating not only the situation in the whole country, but also in other states, which is emphasized in the document,” - is stated in the application.
“In order to interfere into the interior affairs of the sovereign state, which is the Republic of Belarus, this organization made an unprecedented move - the establishment under its aegis of this obviously far-fetched “public Russian-Belarusian remedial commission” with, to tell the truth, a completely fabricated membership, - is said in the statement. - It is common knowledge that the few Belarusian oppositionists-“human rights activists” (and typical provocateurs in reality), discovering no support in their home country, have endeavored many times to find it elsewhere. But this is at least strange that the political ambitions of “the Belarusian potato- cornflower revolutionists”, including the members of the above-mentioned “mutual commission”, find the ground in Russia, since these people have been previously notorious in Belarus, first of all, due to their antirussian sentiments (their public support of “the Chechen rebels against the Russian impeialism” alone counts for a lot!).”
“It is evident whose strategic plans the human rights fighters, who signed the above-mentioned document, are striving to set into, - is said in the statement. - On the threshold of the Belarusian Presidential election of 2006, new attempts, violent and immoral in their essence, to mount a campaign against the Republic of Belarus and our people, are being undertaken. Antibelarusian “initiatives” of Ella Pamphilova and Co exemplify the double standards used by well-known politicians regarding our country. Among the passages of the “open letter”, the thesis that “the number of the Russian citizens who seek help because of the violations of their rights on the territory of Belarus is rising every day” is especially noteworthy. The evident lies cross all conceivable boundaries, - as is it stressed in the statement of the Embassy. - There is hardly another country in the world apart from Belarus where the Russian people would have felt so comfortable.” As the Embassy points out, “a reasonable question arises: why should a mock “commission” come out on behalf of the Belarusian-Russian public, taking refuge in the status of the institution of the President of the Russian Federation?!”
“Ella Pamphilova should have already learned that Belarus is an independent state, - it is said further in the statement. - Maybe it is high time she stopped contemplating the life of our republic from the cosy offices with the eyes of western “well-wishers”?”
