Irina Krasovskaya Met With Chairman in Office of the OSCE :: Charter'97 :: News

On June 30th in Washington DC Irina Krasovskaya, President of “We Remember” Foundation, member of the Council of Civil initiatives “Free Belarus” met with the Chairman in Office of the OSCE, Foreign Minister of Slovenia Dimitri Ruppel. Irina Krasovskaya represented the many voices which constitute the Belarus opposition and the hope for a free and European Belarus. This meeting was attended by senior officials of the United States, Ambassadors to the OSCE and leaders from American media. Ms. Krasovskaya forcibly appealed to the OSCE Chairman for his support in the freeing of political prisoners in Belarus and for justice in the search for those responsible for the murders of Belarus opposition leaders, Yuri Zakharanka, Viktar Hanchar and Anatol Krasouski, and a prominent journalist Zmitser Zavadsky.

Chairman in Office of the OSCE Dimitri Ruppel and Irina Krasovskaya, President of “We Remember” Foundation, greed that European institutions share a responsibility to ensure that next year’s election in Belarus reflect the will of the Belarus people for freedom.

Importantly, this meeting takes place prior to the seating of the official Government of Belarus delegation to the OSCE at this week`s General Assembly in Washington, DC.

Ms. Krasovskaya departs on July 5th to join the European Parliament`s debate in Strasbourg, France on the failure of Belarus democracy where she will be accompanied by the most senior members of the European Parliament who intend to express their solidarity with the aspirations of the Belarus people for democracy, justice, and full membership in European institutions.
