A 20-day Protest of Babrujsk Dweller Ended in Minsk 11:36, 05/07/2005
A citizen of Babrujsk Lubou Sankevich finished her protest action sanctioned by Minsk authorities, that she had been carrying out in Bangalore Square for 20 days. The aim of her picket was a protest against embezzlement of state property and a demand to reinstate her in her job at Babrujsk plant of tractor spare parts and equipment. The administration is accused of abuse of power by the woman.
Today Lubou Sankevich has returned to Babrujsk. She thinks that her protest was a failure. It was simply unnoticed.
“The leadership of our country does not need common people. And thought the directives are made to save state property, unfortunately these are only empty words. I am sure about that,” told the woman to Radio Svaboda.
According to Lubou Sankevich, by her action she also wanted to say people that they should not be afraid and keep silent. She assures that she is not going to be silent and is going to continue struggle for justice.
