12:56, 20/07/2005

According to the information of Ukrainian minister of Interior Affairs, former governor of Kyiv region Anatoliy Zasukha has crossed the border of Belarus and is in Belarus now. The National Central Office of the Interpol in Ukraine announced that Zasukha is searched internationally. He appears in two criminal actions and flees from prosecution. Former governor is suspected of economic crimes, including abuse of power and forgery.

Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko stated that Anatoliy Zasukha had crossed the border of Belarus in Volyn’ region. He escaped right after the criminal action was brought up against him. According to the Ukrainian minister, former governor Zasukha is most likely to go to Moscow, where a kind of “shadow government” consisting of former high-ranking officials is gathering.

Meanwhile the state committee of frontier troops of Belarus states that they have no information about the former minister’s crossing the border.
