Belarusian authorities are bribing Russian journalists with food 12:36, 05/09/2005, UCP press-room
On the last week another group of journalists from Moscow and outlying districts has left Minsk, where they have been the subjects of brainwashing about Belarusian theory of authoritarian state, standing on the bases of global vertical subordination, anti-Americanism, anti-globalization, post-socialism and the cult of the Belarusian first President`s personality.
The classes of ideology have been attended by the employees of the "Sovetskaya Rossia", "Rossiyskaya zemlya" editorial stuff (Andrew Rostovcev), "Slovo" – radio news (Andrew Antonov), "Lad" – an addition to the "Literaturnaya gazeta" (Alexei Chichkin), "Selskaya gizn", "Otkrovenie" magazine and so on…
It’s notable, that a good practically working seminar has been created in RB, which is in fact a recruiting resource of Russian journalists for lobbying Belarusian interests in Russia. During the visit journalists from Russia are being instructed; they are transported according to the approved rout which includes visiting of some enterprises and establishments, prepared for them.
They selectively get access to the special sources, are trustfully informed about the problems of mutual relations between official Minsk and Kremlin. The host side is taking care of all the expenses, including the cost of the trip, accommodation, souvenirs etc… The "guests" after the finishing of the "trip" are to appear on television with the story, dealing with their excitement about national economy’s of RB achievements, about social care, which is provided by the government and Belarusian President for every citizen of RB, as well as about the fail of economical reforms in Russia, political collapse and social degradation of their Motherland.
The last group has reported in a strict compliance with the above form in the numerous interviews to Belarusian state newspapers. The work with Russian journalism will be continued.
It is necessary to mention, that the hosting Belarusian side is taking all the cares about the guests` leisure, in which one of the main cares are – good breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Although according to our information, while leaving Belarus, spoilt Russian journalists have complained that Belarusian draniki have been overdone, and that the hosting side has been stingy of alcohol drinks.
It is hard to find out if it is really true. The budget of these receptions – is a closed topic.
But in exchange for delicious food Russian journalists are to abandon the "first-born" journalist principals: objectivity and overall coverage of information.
It is notable that the attempts of Belarusian authorities don`t bring in return in Russia all the times. Many Russian journalists, do work off the food, but are doing it without any interest and inspiration.
