Yushchenko Talked About Arrested Kmara Activists with Lukashenka
11:11, 06/09/2005

Release and arrival of Kmara members, Luka Tsuladze and Giorgi Kandelaki from Minsk to Kyiv was a great event of Ukrainian political life. The press conference on this occasion was opened by advisor of President Viktor Yushchenko and the leader of the party “PORA” Vladislav Kaskiv. The head of the Defence and Security committee of Georgian parliament Givi Targamadze called the recent events in Minsk a “rescue operation”. Mister Targamadze said that this issue had been brought up during the recent CIS summit in Kazan.

“President Yushchenko touched upon this topic in Kazan in his talk with Lukashenka. We do not have an embassy in Belarus, so the Ukrainian Embassy in Minsk in fact worked as our embassy. Representatives of the air company “Ukrainian Mediterranean Airlines” has made an unprecedented step: the departure of the plane was delayed for an hour and a half, so that the guys could be on time for it, as their further y in Minsk was connected to a danger of provocation,” Givi Tagranadze said.

“It is a victory of both Georgian and Ukrainian diplomacy,” Targamadze said. He also added that official Tbilisi showed a lot approach in this situation, however in the future it won’t act this way.

As said by Georgian deputy, Radio Svaboda informs, Georgia is not engaged in revolutions’ export, but “the Belarusian nation is from the presidency, that is why there is a reason to help the Belarusians in different ways and share experience”.
