Andzelika Borys Met With Ambassadors of European Union In Warsaw 13:00, 07/09/2005
On September 6 Andzelika Borys, who in March was elected a chairman of the Union of Poles in Belarus at the congress of the UPB which is not accepted by the authorities, and vice-speaker of Polish Sejm, one of the main candidates for the presidential position Donald Tusk, had a meeting in Warsaw with the ambassadors of the EU countries.
According to Polish information agency PAP, the meeting was held in the Embassy of the Great Britain, which is president in the EU now. After leaving the embassy, A. Borys told to reporters that she is satisfied by the results of the meeting, and that diplomats’ reception was “very positive and very warm”. “It’s very important for us that Poles and Polish government who support us, had a support of the European Union,” A. Borys said.
On September 7 Andzelika Borys is to appear in the European Parliament. IN the trip to Strasbourg she is to be accompanied by Donald Tusk, a Polish politician of the highest level, who managed to visit Belarus after escalation of the conflict around the UPB (on July 28 in the night the leadership of the public association headed by A.Borys was evicted from its headquarters).
