Lukashenka Invites Fidel Castro to Minsk 15:41, 12/09/2005
Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that his country would like Fidel Castro to go on a visit to Belarus. On Monday at the meeting with Cuban Ambassador to Belarus Felix Carballo, Lukashenka said: “If he (Fidel Castro) visits Europe some time and combines his arrival with a visit to Belarus, we will be happy to receive him as a very close and kind man”.
“ I ask you to give my kindest regards to the head of Cuba Fidel, and to say him that I remember everything we talked about during my last visit to Cuba,” Lukashenka said to Cuban Ambassador, whose diplomatic mission in Minsk is to finish. A. Lukashenka said that “it is sad when friends leave”.
“But I hope your would be devoted to friendship between our states as well”, Belarusian president said.
In his turn Cuban Ambassador said that “for these four years and a half I had been working only for the good of cooperation between our two friendly countries”. Felix Carballo admitted that “it was easy to work here for me, as all necessary conditions have been created… since there is an order, clam in your country, there are no conflicts. Thus one can concentrate on the most important things and nit be distracted by trivial matters”, the diplomat emphasized.
