A mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was scheduled to arrive in Minsk on September 13 to assess the country`s macroeconomic situation, the press office of the IMF Office in Belarus told BelaPAN.
The mission is led by the deputy head of the North Eastern Division of the IMF European Department, Balasz Horvath.
It is to study three draft major documents for 2006, including budget estimates, the government`s monetary policy guidelines and its forecast for social and economic development.
The experts are scheduled to meet with officials of the Council of Ministers, the economy, statistics and finance ministries, as well as the National Bank and other banks.
The mission is to leave Belarus on September 21.
An IFM mission worked in Belarus this past March. It concluded that the country`s growth strategy faces increasing risks, unless authorities change their economic policies.
