ARTICLE 19`s message to the Belarusian Association Of Journalists on its 10th anniversary celebrations :: Charter'97 :: News

ARTICLE 19, the Global Campaign for Free Expression, wishes to congratulate the Belarusian Association of Journalists on the occasion of its 10th anniversary. ARTICLE 19 has been cooperating with the Belarusian Association of Journalists since 1997, and is grateful to BAJ for the continuous support and information provided, which has allowed us to implement numerous projects in Belarus. During our visits to Belarus, we have been greatly impressed with the commitment and professionalism of BAJ`s staff, and their determination to promote freedom of expression in Belarus, even at the most difficult times. We have enjoyed working with BAJ`s staff not only for their professional skills, but also for their human qualities and friendship. We therefore wish BAJ to continue their successful activities for many more years, by working towards a more democratic and open Belarus. ARTICLE 19 wishes to extend its congratulations not only to BAJ`s members, but also to all Belarusian journalists, who continue to operate with courage under trying circumstances.
