Resumption of hearings of the administrative case of the “Salidarnasts” newspaper reporter Ivan (Jan) Roman is to take place on September 27, Radio Svaboda informs. This decision has been made by the judge of Lenin district court of Hrodna Natalya Kozel at the hearings on September 20. Ivan Roman is charged with activities on behalf of unregistered organization.
The action has been brought up against him on reference to the statement of the head of guard service of Hrodna Machine Tool Units’ plant Uladzimir Malatkou. He wrote that Ivan Roman disseminates among the workers a trade union bulletin “Shaber”, which allegedly “contains biased materials about activities of the state bodies”, and thus negatively influence the workers. Ivan Roman says that he has been handing out a registered newspaper, “Salidarnasts”.
Ivan Roman is a member of the trade union of the radio -electronic industry, which is officially registered.
