Foreign minister: Belarus recognizes Iran`s right to use peaceful nuclear technologies 12:12, 22/09/2005
Belarus` Foreign Minister Sergei Martynov assured his Iranian counterpart, Manuchehr Motaki, on September 19 that Belarus fully recognizes and supports Iran`s right to develop and use peaceful nuclear technologies.
The two officials meet in New York, where they attend the 60th session of the UN General Assembly, said the Belarusian foreign ministry`s press office.
The officials reaffirmed their countries` willingness to develop an all-round political dialogue at the high and top level and agreed on cooperation on the international scene. The foreign ministers agreed to exchange priority projects aimed at boosting trade between the two countries.
They also reached an understanding of the need to deepen economic cooperation, said the press office noting that Belarus is determined to start a tractor assembly plant in Iran. The ministers vowed to promote cultural and educational ties.
