Three Belarus military units mobilized in training exercise :: Charter'97 :: News

Mobilization resources continue arriving at military units in accordance with the plan for holding a training session with designated personnel that started on 19 September. About 500 reservists will be called up for training.

In addition, an urgent mobilization order was issued to the 37th weapons and ammunition storage base (Baravukha-2, Vitsebsk Region) and the 19th weapons and ammunition storage base (Zaslonava, Vitsebsk Region) of the Northwestern Operational Command of the ground forces, and the 5th Detached Special Purpose Brigade (Maryina Horka, Minsk Region).

The Defence Ministry`s press service told Belapan that this element of checking the combat and mobilization readiness is being used for the first time and was unexpected both for the military units and the designated personnel. It provides for the notification of those liable for military service within short periods of time and their arrival at military units to fulfil their military duty in accordance with Belarusian legislation.

The main mobilization and organization directorate of the armed forces` General Staff said that mobilization resources are being supplied smoothly and in accordance with the mobilization plans.
