Two persons on hunger strike in Vaukavysk by now 12:48, 27/09/2005
Entrepreneur Mikalai Autukhovich and an unemployed woman, Natallya Nyaborskaya, are on a hunger strike in Vaukavysk. Nobody has asked about the state of health of Mikalai Autukhovich for the six days of the hunger strike, except for his colleagues. The city authorities are referring to their preoccupation with the celebration of the 1000 anniversary of Vaukavysk. The position of the local hospital is as following: when a person feels bad, he is to address for help himself. Natallya Nyaborskaya went on hunger strike on September 23, she has vertigo, and she is afraid of losing consciousness.
Mikalai Autukhovich does not have complains concerning his state of health still. For the last three years it is his third hunger strike. Tax agencies attribute about a million dollars of fines and unpaid taxes to the firm Nika-Trans with which he cooperates.
As for Natallya Nyaborskaya, she announced a hunger strike after Vaukavysk court decided that she is to pay 6.5 mln rubles in taxes for buying an apartment in Minsk. The tax is so high because she failed to provide all the documents about her income to tax inspection. Natallya Nyaborskaya has been working in the sub-Polar region for some time. She received a document confirming that she had been living there, and the documents about her work had burnt.
As said by Natallya Nyaborskaya, she went to tax inspection many times, explained the situation, but nobody wanted to listen to her. She does not have money to pay the tax.
She is conducting the hunger strike in the apartment of her friends, where she lives with her 12-year-old son, Polish Radio informs.
