Ideology Finds Way Under the Ground
13:17, 25/10/2005

The first broadcasting of the news programms inside Minsk metro is planned for the end of October. As said by Rim Mukhtasarau, the director of “BelRosRekalama” limited liability company, which is the organizer of the project, 34 liquid crystal screens would be installed at the 17 out of 20 stations of the both metro lines. Three stations – “Park Chaliuskintsau”, “Pershamajskaya” and “Maladziovaya”, have been found “unpromising” for such an action. At the majority of the stations 2 screens would be erected, 3 screens on the Kastrychnitskaya station, and one on the “Praletarskaya”. According to the preliminary estimations, the project’s cost is about USD 400-450,000.

News editions are to be televised live in the morning and evening time. The agreements about that have been signed with the TV channels BT and STV. Besides, broadcasting of commercials and public service announcements about safety measures in the metro. Minsk metro would be the first among the CIS countries to show news programms, the “Belarusy i Rynok” newspaper informs.
