2 years of imprisonment for Internet-site hacking 14:51, 01/11/2005
On August 27-28 overnight a site of the contest “Miss-LG 2004” was cracked. A criminal action has been initiated based on the fact of illegal access to information placed at this site. The information from the site was completely deleted, and the words “Contest organizers are corrupt” appeared at the main page. After a one-year investigation the court accused the four-year student of the Belarusian State University Uladzimir Brueu, who unofficially worked for Webcom company as a programmer. The court found him guilty of the crimes related to violation of the Articles 350 (2), 351 (2) and 354 (1) of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 2 years in medium security prison with prohibition of programming for 3 years, the “IT in Belarus” site informs.
