Several hundreds of the newspaper “Tovarisch” are withdrawn in Zhlobin 11:23, 01/02/2006
Officers of the Zhlobin District Interior Affairs Department (ROVD) withdrew several hundreds of the legal newspaper “Tovarisch” - the printing body of the Party Belarusian of Communists (PBC), as editor-in-chief of the newspaper Siargey Vazniak told BelaPAN.
According to S.Vazniak, the newspapers were withdrawn from public distributor Uladzimer Katsora, who was delivering the printed materials to Grodna for further free of charge distribution among the residents. The issue contained information regarding the electoral Presidential campaign of candidate for the post of President of the united democratic forces Alyaxandr Milinkevich.
S.Vazniak considers these actions illegal since they violate the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On the press and other Mass Media”. “The newspaper “Tovarisch” is a legal Mass Media unit. All necessary data are given in its requisites: circulation, name and surname of the editor-in-chief, address of the publishing house and of the typography, the number of the order, line-out of the issue and the reference to its free of charge distribution”, - he explained.
