Prosecutor’s Office Checks Materials of Andrzej Pisalnik 14:07, 01/02/2006
On January 31 the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Glos znad Niemna in Exile” Andrzej Pisalnik was summoned to the chief assistant of Hrodna regional prosecutor Veniamin Lukjanau. The journalist had found out that a check of his articles in the newspaper “Glos znad Niemna in Exile” and a magazine “Magazyn Polski In Exile” is carried out.
As said by Mr Pisalnik, among his articles are “How authorities cracked down on Union of Poles” and an interview with Andzelika Borys, the chairperson of the Union of Poles in Belarus, not recognized by the authorities. Andrzej Pisalnik refused to provide explanations, the Radio Svaboda.
Last week his colleague Andrei Poczobutt, the editor-in-chief of the magazine “Magazyn Polski In Exile” was called to visit the prosecutor’s office, however he refused to give explanations as well.
