Syarhei Kalyakin: On March 19 at 8 p.m. We All Gather On October Square
15:40, 20/02/2006

“We call upon our supporters: to sum up the results the of voting, to learn about the results, to gather on October Square in Minsk on March 19 at 8 p.m., as it is done all over the world, where supporters of this or that candidate get together to celebrate victory. Our meeting is completely peaceful and legal from the point of view of a citizen’s rights,” told the leader of the HQ of democratic presidential hopeful Milinkevich, Syarhei Kalyakin, during the on-line conference on Radio Svaboda.

As Syarhei Kalyakin believes, when vote rigging would take place, people have all chances to demand all squares in order to annul the election results.

“We do not urge people to gather on the square, but we urge them to vote for the single candidate, and we call upon the authorities to carry out a truthful vote counting. In case such counting would be made, a second round should take place, as Lukashenka cannot get 50% of votes. In case the authorities would resort to falsifications, they would drive people to the squares by this. And in this situation, undoubtedly, we shall be with these people, me and Alyaksandr Milinkevich, and other politicians,” Syarhei Kalyakin said.
