Yury Zhygamont’s program shut down 12:01, 01/03/2006
Last Sunday custom viewers of “Traveling of Amateur” did not manage to see the program on the BT channel. A sambo tournament for prizes of Aliaxandar Lukashenka was broadcast instead of the program.
“KP v Belarusi” addressed author of the historic series Yury Zhygamont and figured out that the “amateur’s” program was shut down. The decision was made by new assistant chairperson of the Belarusian Television and Radio Company Yury Azaronak.
- Why was it shut down? Because of the inadequate, according to the BT administration, information delivery, - Yury Zhygamont told us in despair. - The books we read to prepare the program are wrong. The program is useless for the viewers. And actually John the Terrible released Belarus from everything Polish and Lithuanian. Kastus Kalinouski is a Polish traitor who wanted to sell Belarus to Poland. Also I was told there had never been such an address as “Panowie” in Belarus - “dear viewers” must be used instead”.
The time of historic programs was taken by the series of Azaronak “Spiritual War. After a Battle”. Yury Zhygamont doesn’t know yet whether he will take part in another TV project, or will make the program at another TV channel. Shutting down of “Traveling of Amateur” with good rating and warm attitude of viewers was a great surprise for Mr.Zhygamont.
“KP” file:
Yury Zhygamont was born on February 11, 1968, in the village of Dziamidau (Naraulianski district of Gomel region). He graduated from a building college, spent one year working as a crane operator. Realizing this was not his vocation he entered Belarusian Theatrical Artistic Institute (at present, Academy of Arts). After graduation Yury Zhygamont worked in the theater “Fee Scene” (“Volnaya Stsena”). Now he is an actor of the Minsk Theater of Young Viewer. He traveled over almost entire Belarus, made about 200 programs “Traveling of Amateur”. In the next programs he planned to tell about cities and towns of the neighbouring countries who made a part of the Great Duchy of Lithuania.
