A consul of Ukrainian consulate in Minsk Vasily Serdega told to the Charter’97 press center that at the moment it is known that the 6 detained activists of Ukrainian public associations are kept in the police department of Frunzenski district of Minsk. It is not yet clear where the other detainees are kept. Policemen told that the detainees are kept in the pre-trial detention centre in Akrestsyn Street. “But we were told by representatives of the detention centre that nobody had been brought to them yet,” Vasily Serdega said. According to the preliminary information, 20 persons were detained in Minsk at the meeting with the single democratic presidential candidate Alyaksandr Milinkevich. Most of them are Ukrainian citizens.
Journalist of the Ukrainian “5th channel” Anna Goroshenko was released and now stays in the Ukrainian Embassy in Minsk together with Leonid Leonidov, the channel operator. At present the activists of Ukrainian public organizations detained in Minsk today are kept in the Frunzenski RUVD. As press-secretary of the Ukrainian Embassy in Minsk Leonid Yasinskiy told Charter’97 press-center, the Ukrainian Counsul had arrived at the police department.

As press secretary of the candidate Paval Mazheika told the Charter’97 press center, usual provocations had interrupted the meeting. It was difficult for Alyaxandr Milinkevich to communicate with voters because of the laud music playing inside the building. Nevertheless, it didn’t break down the meeting; the people moved away from the building and Alyaxandr Milinkevich was speaking with a microphone.

United democratic forced candidate for President’s post Alyaxandr Milinkevich pledges not to repress Lukashenka if his guilt is not proved. “There are investigation institutions and the court in our country, and if Lukashenka didn’t commit any crime, he will not be repressed”, - A.Milinkevich said Sunday, at a meeting with voters of Minsk. “We will build a small house for him, and he would probably like to be a parliamentarian.
