Witnesses: many people with damaged ribs and heads’ traumas were delivered in hospitals
17:46, 26/03/2006

Messages on the injured during the dispersal of the March 25 peaceful demonstration appear on forums of www.ivejournal.com . The police and hospitals refuse to inform the media about the number of the injured and their condition, hence, we offer the following letter:

“The ambulance ward of the emergency hospital reported that they were receiving injured people (16.00-17.00). Everyone was blue, with bruises and signs of assaults.

Three have their spines damaged. Another one doesn’t feel his legs - the spinal column is injured.

Six guys were delivered with presumed open craniocerebral trauma. It can be seen without X-ray that three of them have their skulls damaged. All of them are out.

Many people with injured ribs were driven to hospital. Two girls of 18-20 are out. Probably, craniocerebral trauma of medium weight. With their noses crushed. One has her rib broken.

People in black with the POLICE sign on their backs arrived about 21.00. They asked who had been delivered and in what condition. A girl regained consciousness, the people wanted to take her from hospital, but the doctors objected. They said, she must lie because of the craniocerebral trauma. The people burst into the ward. Took the girl and carried her outside through the entire hospital. There they put her in a car and drove somewhere. And two more guys who were able to walk.

The whole medical staff is shocked…

And are you, Belarusians, shocked?”
