Today about 11.30 member of the public organization “Belarusian Association of Journalists” (BAJ) Anton Taras was released from the special jail in Akrestsina Street where he had spent 11 days. Several journalists were released from Zhodzina special isolation jail: “BAJ” member Tatsiana Vanina (8 days) and Sviatlana Stankevich (8 days) were exonerated March 31, while Vadzim Kaznacheieu was exonerated at night April 2-3. Today at night journalist Darya Kastenka (10 days) was exonerated from the Minsk city executive committee interior department special jail. Andrzej Pisalnik (12 days), the editor of the newspaper “Glos znad Niemna na uchodzstwie” was set at liberty April 1.The trial of “Narodnaya Volia” journalist Valery Schukin was again postponed till April 6.
Meanwhile our colleagues are still kept behind the bars: Belarusian journalists Artsiom Liava and Siargey Salash, Russian journalists Eduard Glezin, Oleg Kozlovskiy, Aleksandr Podrobinek, Ukrainian journalists Andrei Lubka and Pavel Salyga, Georgian operator Georgiy Lagidze, Polish correspondent Wieranika Samalinska and Canadian journalist Frederick Lavoie. All of them are kept in Aktrestsina Street.
