Milinkevich continues his Europe tour despite some ailment 12:06, 07/04/2006
Belarusian opposition leader Aleksandr Milinkevich on April 6 continued his Europe tour despite some ailment.
Sergei Kalyakin, campaign manager for the former presidential candidate, confirmed to BelaPAN that while attending a meeting of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Thursday, Mr. Milinkevich felt ill and his blood pressure was high. “He was given medical aid and he left for Berlin where he is scheduled to have meetings with members of the Bundestag and at the foreign ministry,” Mr. Kalyakin said.
Mr. Milinkevich’s wife, Inna Kulei, told BelaPAN that her husband felt quite well. “All people have their resource. Aleksandr Milinkevich’s resource is very high, but he has not had enough time in recent months to rest,” she said. “I believe that he just needs a few days to sleep and rest.”
According to the press office of the German federal ministry of foreign affairs, on April 7, Deputy Mnister Gernot Erler plans to have a lunch together with Mr. Milinkevich to receive information about the post-election situation in Belarus and the united pro-democratic forces’ plans.
