Another Criminal Action Instituted Against Young Front Activists 18:41, 12/04/2006
Members of the Young Front from Zhodzina, Syarzhuk Hudzilin, Yauhen Vaukavets and Ales Charejka are charged with violation of the Article 193 Part 1 of the Criminal Code for activities of behalf of an unregistered organization.
Young activists were serving a 7-day administrative arrest from March 17 to 24, and were sentenced to arrests up to 15 days after a crackdown on the tent camp on October Square. After release the members of the Young Front found out that a criminal action was brought up against them.
Investigators carried out home searches and confiscated printed materials and independent newspapers and magazines kept in their apartments.
Besides, it was reported that a criminal action had been brought up against the deputy co-chairman of the Young Front, Pavel Krasouski. He is charged with violating Article 369 of the Criminal Code allegedly for insulting officials, and under Article 193 Part 1 (activities on behalf of an unregistered organization).
