Arrested Observers to Stay In KGB Prison 14:22, 21/04/2006
The term of arrest for the arrested members of the organization “Partnerstva” Mikola Astrejka, Tsimafei Dranchuk, Enira Branitskaya, Alyaksandr Shalajka and Dzyanis Nibijka has been extended for two months, the Radio Svaboda informs.
Activists of the “Partnerstva”, an organization which aim was to monitor the elections, had been charged with leading an organisation violating rights of citizens.
Mikola Astrejka, Enira Branitskaya, Alyaksandr Shalajka and Tsimafei Dranchuk were detained on February 22, and Dzyanis Nibijka on March 16. They are not allowed to meet with relatives.
An exception was made for Tsimafei Dranchuk, who had a meeting with his wife. The arrested are allowed to send letters and receive parcels once in two weeks, and money transfers of 50,000 BYR once a month.
