Young Front Leader Arrested For 14 Days 12:48, 28/04/2006
Judge of Pershamajski district court of Minsk Alyaksandr Karpinchyk arrested the co-chairman of the “Young Front” Zmitser Dashkevich for 14 days. Policemen charged him with participation in unsanctioned meeting and demonstration on April 26, the Radio Svaboda informs.
The guards of the court haven’t let Zmitser’s friends and supporters into the court room where the session was taking place.
Zmitser Dashkevich told in the court that he was taking part in the rally sanctioned by the authorities and urged participants to come to the chapel.
After announcing the verdict, Zmitser Dashkevich said that it is not the first arrest in his life, and it would not intimidate him, and would not influence the Young Front activists to take part in opposition actions in spring.
We would like to remind that yesterday Belarusian opposition leaders Alyaksandr Milinkevich, Vintsuk Vyachorka, Syarhei Kalyakin, Alyaksandr Bukhvostau, were arrested for 14 and 15 days on the same charges.
