We Remember

The last week of May is announced International Week of Abducted Persons by the UNESCO. Four well-known persons went missing in Belarus in 1999-2000. Former Interior Minister, police general Yury Zakharanka was abducted on May 7, 1999. First vice-speaker of the Supreme Soviet of Belarus of the 13th convocation, a chairman of the Central Elections Committee Viktar Hanchar and his friend, an businessman and public figure Anatol Krasouski were abducted on September 16, 1999. Journalist Dzimtry Zavadsky went missing on July 7, 2000.

The demand to revel the truth about abductions of Yury Zakharanka, Viktar Hanchar, Anatol Krasouski, Dzmitry Zavadski is contained in resolutions of the European Union, UN commission on Human rights, the PA OSCE.

The Interior Minister Uladzimir Navumau, a Secretary of the Security Council Viktar Shejman, former head of the Interior Ministry Yury Sivakou and SOBR commander Dzmitry Paulichenka are suspected in implication in abductions and assassinations of Yury Zakharanka, Viktar Hanchar, Anatol Krasouski and Dzmitry Zavadski by the world community.

“We shall never forget those who have disappeared. We remember about them every day, We believe in justice triumph. It is our legitimate right to know the truth about what had happened to Yury Zakharanka, Viktar Hanchar, Anatol Krasouski and Dzmitry Zavadski. We remember,” the statement of the civil initiative “We Remember” reads. The initiative unites families of abducted and murdered people in Belarus.
