Artur Finkevich and Pavel Drazdou Taken From Detention Center in Police Cars 15:56, 01/06/2006
Young activists Artur Finkevich and Pavel Drazdou were brought out of the special detention center in Akrestsin Street in police cars. It was done in order not to allow relatives and friends of Finkevich and Drazdou to meet the political prisoners in front of the prison.
As we have informed, on May 18 the young activists were sentenced to 15 days off arrest. Riot policemen seized them near the court of Maskouski district, where a criminal case of opposition activist Yury Radzivil was considered. They spent the night in the special detention center in Akrestsin Street. Though there were no legal reasons for their detention, the young people were charged with violation of the Article 156 of the Administrative Code (Petty hooliganism). Riot policemen were witnesses in the both trails. They stated that the activists allegedly used foul language. Judge Syarhei Nikalaey passed the politically motivated verdict.
