Mikalay Autukhovich Fainted Because of Hunger

Today in Hrodna in the court of Kastrychnitski district a trial over entrepreneur Mikalay Autukhovich continues. He is on hunger strike since April 13. As it turned out, after the last court session last Tuesday he fell unconscious. He was placed to the prison medical unit and a dropper made to him, the Radio Svaboda informs.

Today he looked much better. He was cropped and shaved. He took an active part in the court trial. However, as before he repeated that he would not stop hunger strike until a measure of restraint would not be changed for him.

Prison doctor, who stood near Mikalay Autukhovich in the court room, submitted an appeal to the judge Mikalay Rachynski not to extend the process because of the state of health of the accused, who is to be hospitalized.

Mikalay Autukhovich is charged with large-scale tax evasion and causing big damages for the state. He faces up to 7 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property or without it. It’s the second hunger strike in prison for him. Last time he was on hunger strike for 74 days, and the measure of restraint was changed to him. He was place under home arrest. In some time Autukhovich fled and went hiding. He was arrested in two months and imprisoned again.

Next session is scheduled for June 2.
