Political Prisoner Artur Finkevich to Work At Construction Site 13:26, 13/07/2006
The leader of the Young Front Artur Finkevich, who is serving a sentence of two years of restriction of freedom in Mahilyou, was sent for work in the building office number 129 of the open joint-stock company “Lavsan-Stroj”. The young leader is to work as an unskilled worker.
The leader of the Young Front is satisfied with this job. “It is a hard work certainly. But I do not have a wide choice, either to work at a construction or to clean swine houses in Mahilyou corrective colonies,” Artur Finkevich said to the Charter’97 press center.
Artur Finkevich has an incomplete higher education. He had been studying international relations for two years.
The young leader has been sentenced to two years of restriction of liberty (so-called corrective labour) by the court of Pershamajski district of Minsk. For making a graffiti “We want a new one!” he was found guilty of violation of the Article 339 Part 2 of the Criminal Code (malicious hooliganism).
